I’m so so so excited. My apartment is really starting to feel like home as I watch my vision come to life. As you may know, I moved into my new SF digs about 2 months ago, and getting it together has been a process, let me tell you.

Let’s face it… moving is such a pain in the ass, and this move definitely did not go off without a hitch. There were a few hiccups, such as my couch not fitting in the elevator. I live on the 8th floor, so this was a problem. As annoying as this was, it was also kind of amazing, because it gave me the perfect excuse to start from square one.… Read More

Thanksgiving Survival Guide

So, Thanksgiving is TOMORROW! Not quite sure how that happened, but other than one final trip to the market, I think I’m ready. Now that I know what I’m putting on the table, time to figure out what I’m putting on myself. I think Thanksgiving is the perfect day to channel a younger, chicer Martha Stewart. Think pre-prison days. Anyway, here’s how I’m going to survive the holiday.

Spicy Black Bean Quinoa Burger

Um. I just died and went to vegan heaven! It’s one of those days when I really felt like cooking a super tasty lunch, but was too lazy to go to the market. So, I raised my kitchen for ingreds and adapted a recipe for a homemade black bean burger. Not only is this going to be on constant rotation in my house, but it only took about 10 minutes from top to bottom. And the best part is it’s totally allergen friendly! Gluten free, nut free, dairy free, egg free, vegan. I want to apologize in advance, I’m not much of a measurer when it comes to cooking.… Read More

Bananas over chocolate!

Brrr. It’s kind of gloomy out this morning. You probably know I start every day with a protein smoothie no matter what… but today o was craving something warm and comforting. I wanted to make sure to start my day with my usual 20 grams of vegan protein, so I played around in the kitchen and whipped up this masterpiece. OH MY GOSH! So good! Tastes like warm chocolate banana nut bread… only it’s vegan, paleo, gluten free, and has no added sugar. This recipe will definitely be on repeat!

Ingredients:

– 1 cup gluten free rolled oats
– 2 scoops Arbonne chocolate protein powder
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 dash pink Himalayan salt
– 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Instructions:

– whisk together all ingredients (leave out oats) in sauce pan
– heat on medium heat for 3 minutes
– add gluten free oats and combine
– continue heating another 5 minutes or until desired consistency

The Cruelty Free Lip Kit

katie roof arbonne cruelty free lip kit

If there’s one thing I just can’t get enough of it’s LIPS! Thanks to King Kylie, lips are front and center this season… although they’ve always been IMHO. I love a good lip kit, but I also love knowing that everything I put on my face is pure, safe, and beneficial to my skin and overall health. This means no harmful chemicals, no parabens, no petroleum, no mineral oil, and NO animal derived ingredients or animal testing… ever.

I’m seriously obsessed with Arbonne’s smoothed over lipsticks! They are long wearing, super hydrating, and naturally plump the lips… oh ya, and they are totally vegan!… Read More
